Sorry for not updating last week, unfortunately things haven’t been going as planned. Things have been pretty crazy as of late, as well you all know, and it’s thrown us a few curve balls. However, we're well on track to have the grimoire available for the summer. (fingers crossed) We're hard at work preparing for prepress, and production is just around the corner. So now seems ike a great time to update you on some of the new features we hadn't talked about yet.
Some of the new features we’ve added include more subclasses (even more then the ones you know about), increased the number of feats to 50, doubled the number of Eldritch Invocations, increased the number of magic items to 100, expanded Mana and Mana Potions, and added more lore and other features! Including an in-game Gemhammer and Sons Magic Item Shop for you and your players to visit and purchase all the items they need.
Below are some of the highlights we wanted to share with you. We’ll be sure to expand on each section in future updates.
Besides the subclasses we’ve already covered, we’ve added the following subclasses to the Grimoire, this means that there will be two subclasses for every spell caster.
New Bardic College: College of The Divine Archive
Bards from the College of The Divine Archive are bonded to an omniscient archive of extra-dimensional higher thinking, known only as the Divine Archive. Bards of this college worship the Archive as a god, and none are given access to its flow of knowledge from outside their order. These bards use the archive to view past and future lore, but also allow it to guide their actions. Some compare their powers to divination magic, but given how often these bards are tapped into possible futures, or alternate timelines, it would be inaccurate to compare their abilities to those of a practitioner of divination.
New Cleric Domain: Domain of Lies
Clerics who practice within the Domain of Lies believe that falsehoods are the catalyst that bring forth the greatest aspects of the mortal soul. Noble lies and pious fiction are oftentimes found at the heart of all great civilizations; and the grandest tales, the noblest virtues, are all based on some invention or intangible. This worldview has led the clerics within the domain of lies to defy the very concept of a lie. At least that's the stuff they tell people to convince them of their piety. From their weapons to their words, these clerics truly fake it till they make it.
New Druid Circle: Circle of the Deep
Druids from the Circle of the Deep are common to the salt marshes and estuaries of Arborstone. They gather together in a sunken lighthouse they call “The School”. These druids are much less concerned with land dwellers than they are with the creatures and ecology of the oceans. Their bond to the sea is powerful and their primal magics have adapted to their aquatic domains giving them unique abilities.
New Paladin Oath: Oath of Hubris
The Oath of Hubris, an order of self indulgent narcissists, too ignorant or arrogant to understand that they are their own cautionary tale. Their vanity and pride often lead to their own downfall, and that’s just the way they like it. Scholars and historians of their order, chronicle their exploits in an effort to dissuade others from swearing this oath. However, those who take this oath have honed their own arrogance into a weapon of divine might, and each victory only serves to inflate their swollen egos and propel them to the next great challenge.
New Ranger Archetype: Green Dragon Rider
The Green Dragon Riders are an elite brotherhood of rangers sworn in service to Chartreusitora the Dragon Queen. She sought to protect her territory against other dragons and creatures that might encroach on her land. Training a group of her humanoid subjects to ride her children, and giving them their unique powers, they became a powerful force that protect her lands to this very day. These aerial assassins specialize in combating flying opponents, and supporting their dragon steed.
New Warlock Patron: The Chromatic Shade
Those who wish to gain the powers of the shadow and color must first make a pact with a shade of the Rainbow Dark. The shades wish to spread their influence to the material planes, and those who make pacts with them serve as their envoys. In return, these warlocks gain the unbridled power of the Rainbow Dark and the ability to color their magic as they see fit.
*Eldritch Invocations*
With a second Warlock on deck, we wanted to make sure that there was enough invocations to go around. So we made twice as many! Now whether you pick spiders or dark rainbows you’ll always have a full suite of invocations to pick from.
Take a trip with your adventuring party to the newest location of Gemhammer and Sons, located in the heart go scenic Arborstone. Buy one of the 100 new items in the shop, or select from the Artifact Bargain Bin. Prices for spell scroll service, to convert any spell in the grimoire into spell scroll (up to level 5). Potions and more!
We will now have rules for Clarified Mana potions, Impure Mana potions, and Antimana Potions. Along with rules for brewing, mana addiction, and curing mana addiction, we’ve included a series of feats that allow for easier brewing and protection from mana addiction. Mana sites have been expanded as well, 10 Mana Sites with story hooks and 1 Antimana site will be outlined in the grimoire. A full 32 page adventure for each mana site will also be available separately for anyone who wishes to explore the mana sites and the mysteries within. (more to come on this soon)

I’d like to applogise for going quite these last few weeks, but with things going they way they are we’ve been very busy. Without getting too deep into our personal lives, just know that we’re safe, and we hope all of you are staying safe too. I’ll have an update on the grimoire ready for you for this weekend. Additionally, I’d like to do an AMA on twitch to give you the chance to chat with me directly. I’d like to do it this weekend, probably on saturday. I’ll have a more definitive time later this week. We're still settling in from PAX, and it was great seeing some of you there. It was good to talk to so many of you, and hear how excited you are for the Grimoire. We're working hard on it, and will be ready to send the book to print very soon.
As we finish up with the Grimoire and get ready for Prepress, we're going to start locking orders and charging for add-ons and preorders. Please make sure to make any additional preorder purchases or adjustments to your addresses before this Friday, March 6th, 2020.
